I live in Memphis, TN. I've been to Voodoo Village many times, actually.  Lastnight a few friends and I decided to go, and nothing happened. I DO believe in ghosts and the paranormal, but everytime I have been there nothing has happened. The first time I saw two guys sitting on the curb smoking a cigarette and looked at the car drive by and leave. Lastnight there was nothing going on. I think that Voodoo Village is just a bunch of hype, honestly. I believe that it's either drugs, alcohol, sleep deprivation, or extreme excitement that makes these people believe what they see. The EMP could also be a source of it. I'm NOT saying that stuff doesn't and won't happen at Voodoo Village, but the creepiest part to me is the crosses in the mans back yard.

I read something that said the place may lie in an extremely active spot, magnetically, a place where lay lines merge, or something.  Perhaps, some folks are more sensitive to this change in magnetic energy than others?  They would be more apt to have experiences, eh?

I wish I would have visited there when I lived in Memphis, but I was too chicken back then  duderun . My thoughts as to why the activity has decreased is that maybe it was somehow being caused a particular person. Like with poltergeist activity sometimes being linked to young, angry females  quiet , maybe someone there caused the activity back in the day when it seemed to happen to everyone? And maybe the activity stopped when this person(s) ceased to exist? I guess that like in poltergeist situations it could have been caused by an overbundance of Qi or something similar or maybe, just maybe it could have been the result of rituals?

My boyfriend grew up in Memphis. Two Christmases ago, Mike drove me out there at night, trying to freak me out. We parked at the church, which is on the main road, then walked to this place. He said there was wood crosses buried in the ground like trees. Was hard to make them out good with just a flashlight. But there was a huge bonfire burning in there that night, a ways from the fence. You could see the shadows of people moving around it. It creeped me out, voodoo or not. I will never go back there. Have there ever been confirmed killings and stuff there? I did find this:

I live n Memphis and have been to VV n the day time with 2 fellow students and a driving instructor. 1 particular day our instructor had the idea of letting us take turns driving near the west wood area and box town so i and this other student sat n the back while we road through box town well it seemed like a routine route for us till our instructor told the student driver to make a left at this next street :huh:which was marry angela u can't help but notice the white church on the corner on the right hand side of the street....Well u know drivers ed cars are equipped with two brakes 1 on the driver side and 1 on the passenger side so we road down this street and on the left hand side u can see white houses and on the right it looks like a garden field untill u start to see color crosses and a fence plenty of trees and u can jus barely see houses on the inside we sat n the back with our mouths open because no 1 was out side on either side of the street and there were no cars n the drive ways or patio chairs or anything out on the left side of the street and when we passed VV there is another garden and sitting out n the field was a Dog and a Cat but not a medium or small Cat  huh it was as big as the dog was it was a orange and white color and did i mention BIG so we approached the end of the street which is a cove our instructor thought it would b funny to step on the brake while the driver was turning the car we instantly started laughing giggle when the driver told our instructor to get his dam foot off the brake and to stop playing he told him he would get left n VV with the driver's ed car if it had stopped for real

Wow! That was a cool story, Lovelylady! Sounds like that place really is very creepy.
Wonder what's going on there, for real?
Is it surrounded with some kind of magic or is just the vibes of people that makes it so odd??

Maybe when we drive up to PA this summer, we'll have to make a pit stop. ;)
